New Album & Neil's Thumb

Hi folks
Just a quick update....Neil's thumb is healing nicely and Novembers gigs in Newcastle and Manchester are definitely ON!!! The rest of us have been cracking on with recording the new album and laughing at Neil whilst he tries to control things with a big fuck off bandage and splint on his thumb, the great thing right now is that he has no choice other than to give a thumbs up to Everything!
The recording of the album looks set to be complete by early December just ahead of the HRH III show and then it will be mastered during December and January with a release around late Feb, early March 2010, it's gonna be called UNFINISHED BUSINESS and will feature 10 BRAND NEW SONGS written by the new line up and we're not ashamed to say that we're very excited indeed about it.
I won't say any more for now but keep watching the MySpace page as we'll be posting a track up here from the album sometime in November.

October shows cancelled due to injury to Neil

After a fantastic weekends shows in Liverpool and Leeds we are sad to have to report that Neil suffered a nasty accident after slamming the van door on his thumb after unloading back in Liverpool. He left it until morning before going to the hospital and an x ray has now confirmed a broken thumb that will put him out of action for up to 6 weeks. This means we have had to pull the plug on the scheduled shows in Brighton on the 9th October and @ Camden Underworld on the 11th October. We are of course gutted as these were the first Southern based shows for us and we've already spoken with The Underworld who are keen to get us booked back in for the New Year and we'll also reschedule the Brighton show as well.
We are keen to stress that Neil will be back in action for the shows at Newcastle and Manchester in November

Just a quick note of thanks to everyone who turned out for this weekends shows in Liverpool and Leeds you were all FANTASTIC!! Lovely to see so many friends at the Liverpool show (LIVERPOOL GIG REVIEW HERE) and Leeds? Wow!!!! You guys are crazier than a bag of ferrets! We'll definetley be back @ The Well sooner rather than later! If anyone has any photos from this weekends shows please e mail them to me nige@marseilleonline.co.uk Right I am off for a beer ;-)

We're back out this weekend

The boys are back in town this weekend with gigs in Liverpool and Leeds. Friday 11th September we are down at The Cavern in Liverpool and Saturday sees us venture over them thar penine hills to Leeds for a gig @ The Well.....Hope to see you there!

Neil On City Talk Radio Saturday 5th September

Neil has an new interview on Liverpool's City Talk Radio Breakfast Show with Neil Fitzmaurice on Saturday 5th September sometime between 8.15am and 8.45am to be precise. The band are in Liverpool on Friday 11th September @ The Cavern Club and there will be other radio interviews ahead of that show so keep coming back.

New Album

We're currently in the throes of demoing 10 new songs for the brand new Marseille album down at Neil's studio in East Sussex and we can share the fact that we're VERY excited at what we've done so far! This is the first time that I really have been able to add my own identity and ideas into the bands material and it's a real buzz. The Fourplay ep was great to do but the songs were just modern day interpretations of old songs and now we really can begin the work of creating the NEW Marseille identity.
We've given the new album the working title of UNFINISHED BUSINESS, it could stay as that or it could change we'll have a think about that one as things progress but it seems an appropriate title right now. Recording will start in earnest in late September through October and then production and mixing throughout November and we're hoping that we should have the whole thing done in time for our appearance at Hard Rock Hell III in December so we can showcase some of the new material for the first time at that show. The full release 'should' then be available in January 2010.....God Willing!
I am going to start a studio report once we're on our way with things.
